 Exciting Weekend Recap: Back-to-Back TRM®️ | SJC Spring Tours at Maryville & Kernans!

Sunday, March 24th, was double booked with two thrilling TRM / SJC Spring Tours, let’s delve into the action from both events:

Maryville Spring Tour, Co. Cork

Maryville Equestrian Centre in Cork set the stage for an exhilarating event, drawing in a total of 52 entries. The track proved technical and 15 combinations advanced to the jump off with Ger O’Neill, Jason Foley & Kian Dore all double booked. 

Ger O’Neill’s flawless round aboard Durango VDL  clinched the victory, stopping the clock at a remarkable 42.98 seconds. Durango VDL, a stallion sired by Zircco Blue out of Narona is part of the Castlefield Breeding Program. Linda Moloney, aboard Ballinaguilkey Fusion Exchange, an impressive 8-year-old, crossed the finish line in 43.79 seconds to secure the 2nd place spot. Ger O’Neill claimed 3rd place with his other mount, Finnegan D. Kian Dore rode MHS Undercover to 4th place and also earned the Leading JU/YR prize. Additionally, Kian Dore secured 5th place riding Puerto Rico Van’T Roosakker. Shane Dalton, aboard Zavy Echo, claimed the 6th place spot as the fastest 4 faulter.

4th. Kian Dore – MHS Undercover (+ Leading JU/YR)

Kernans Spring Tour, Co. Down

Meanwhile, at Kernans Equestrian Centre, a total of 32 combinations tackled the challenging 135 course. 12 pairs managed clear first rounds. However, the tight time allowed meant that only 8 of them advanced to the jump-off round.

The top honors went to young rider Alex Finney aboard L’Esprit Hero Z, who delivered an outstanding performance, stopping the clock at 40.98 seconds. L’Esprit Hero Z is by Lexicon out of Ikea Van’t Roosakker, bred by Gerry Marron & Luc Henry, and owned by Eamon Bishop. Following closely behind, Cian Harrison secured 2nd place with Destina du Mesnil Z, while Liam O’Meara claimed 3rd place riding Big Dan du Rouet. Liam O’Meara also clinched 4th place with Sir Jim Jim, while Katie McEntee rode Roundthorn Hercules to 5th place, and Sven Hadley rode Uidam to 6th place.

Orla Queally and Sinead Barnacle representing TRM®️ had the honor of presenting the TRM®️ product packs to the deserving winners, symbolizing TRM®️’s continuous support for Irish Showjumping and its athletes. The weekend showcased exceptional talent and thrilling competition at both venues. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Maryville and Kernans for hosting such exciting events. As the leaderboard takes shape, Annabel Shields leads with 36 points, followed by Gary Dooley in 2nd place with 24 points, and Niamh O’Connor Barry in 3rd with 22 points.

Join us this Sunday, March 31st, as we head to Mullingar Equestrian Centre in Co. Westmeath for the next leg of the TRM / SJC Spring Tour. It’s sure to be another exhilarating day of equestrian excellence!
