Busy Weekend at the TRM®️ | SJC Spring Tours: Catherine Thornton Secures Victory at Cavan Equestrian Centre, while Max Foley Triumphs at Warrington Equestrian Centre!

Last weekend witnessed a lot of equestrian action as the TRM®️ | SJC Spring Tours unfolded across two different venues, attracting over 100 combinations. On the 16th of March, Cavan Equestrian Centre hosted us for the second time where 49 combinations took on the course. Following on to Sunday the 17th of March, where it took place at Warrington Equestrian Centre in County Kilkenny. 

At Cavan Equestrian Centre, 10 combinations made it through to the jump off. Catherine Thornton stole the show, clinching victory in a time of 42.01 seconds. She was riding Coachella, who is a 10 year old grey mare by USTINOV out of ICING bred by Tom and Linda Magee and owned  by Catherine. Thornton also secured second place with Derryinver Truffle. In third place was Robert Splaine riding Coolcorron Lone Ranger, fourth place and the last double clear round was Maisie Adams riding Quina DW, who also claimed the leading young rider prize. Gerard Clarke and Brid Ryan rounded out the top six with notable performances aboard Castleforbes Gillian and Ne Touche Pas Van De Rostal, respectively.

Sunday, the 17th of March, saw the action shift to Warrington Equestrian Centre in County Kilkenny, where 56 combinations competed in a thrilling two-phase class. With 17 double clear rounds, the competition was tough. Max Foley stole the spotlight with a blistering performance aboard Hermes de Cavalier, claiming victory in a time of 28 seconds. Hermes de Cavalier is by Herme De Reve out of Cavalier Marble owned by Michael O’Neill. Foley also received the Leading Young Rider prize. Jack Brennan captured second place with MHS High Hopes, closely followed by Annabel Shields in third place, who had claimed victory in the previous week’s competition riding Creevagh Carisma. Gary Dooley, a previous winner of two Spring Tour classes, secured fourth place with CSF Olympic Jewel. Gerard O’Neill followed in fifth place aboard Finnegan D, with Emily Moloney closing out the top six riding Capitol Cruis.

Orla Queally and Sinead Barnacle representing TRM®️ had the honor of presenting the TRM®️ product packs to the deserving winners, symbolizing TRM®️’s continuous support for Irish Showjumping and its athletes. 

Congratulations to all the prize winners for their outstanding performances. Looking forward to this weekend, with two Spring Tours scheduled on the 24th of March at Maryville Stables in County Cork and Kernans Equestrian Centre, promising more thrilling action and fierce competition.
