TRM® Ambassador Profile – Robbie Kearns
Background:
Introducing TRM ambassador Robbie Kearns, a rising star in international eventing and a passionate advocate for TRM. Currently based at Beline House Stud in County Kilkenny, Ireland, Robbie made the move back to Ireland last year to ride for Richard and Tanja Ames in Belline. With around 30 horses under their care, the yard specializes in raising young talents and housing experienced international ones.
Robbie’s journey with horses traces back to age 7 when he first met Magpie, a 12.2 hands colored pony who introduced him to the world of show jumping and pony clubbing. Throughout his schooling, Robbie always made time for riding, but it wasn’t until transition year that he landed his first job at Jane O’Flynns yard in Athy. After completing school, Robbie pursued a degree in business and economics at Trinity College Dublin. Following his studies, he ventured to Kevin and Emma McNab’s Eventing yard in the UK, where he spent two years learning a lot about the operations of the business and improving his riding further.
Career Highlights:
Robbie has achieved so much in his career and among them is his memorable victory at Tattersalls International in 2015, where he won the Junior class, marking a cherished milestone in his journey.
Robbie’s gratitude extends to the exceptional horses he’s had the privilege to ride, including Ballyvillane OBOS, with whom he made his Senior Nations Cup team debut last year at Boekelo 4*L. Another standout is Dora (Very Dignified), a special horse Robbie has nurtured from the start, culminating in an impressive double clear round at her first 4* event.
Goals/Targets:
Robbie Kearns is already revving up for a thrilling start to the new year, with plans to head to Kronenberg in March. Fingers crossed for a smooth ride and successful outings for all his horses. In addition with this, he has a lovely group of young horses which he hopes to get to International level.
