TRM® Leading Trainer & Jockey Titles at Dundalk Stadium

The highly sought-after TRM® Champion Trainer & Jockey award is awarded to the trainer and jockey with the most wins of that year. With 43 fixtures over the course of 2022, and the majority still to come this year, it is all eyes on Dundalk Racecourse to see who will win the accolade this year.

The winners of each both receive €1,500 to donate to a charity of their choice.

Last years winners were Joseph O’Brien, winning trainer and Chris Hayes took home the winning jockey award. Joseph is the only person to have won both awards, having won the champion jockey jointly here in 2014. He has won champion trainer here at Dundalk Stadium for the past 4 years, however Michael Halford has won it the most, having won the title 7 consecutive times, from 2011 -2017.

Chris Hayes first time winning the champion jockey award at Dundalk was last year. He won by an impressive 32 wins. Colin Keane has had the most wins in one year in 2017 with 35 wins, the year he held the title.

TRM® have come on as sponsors of this prestigious prize for the first time this year. TRM®, an Irish owned and operated company, are a leading provider of Equine Nutritional and Healthcare products globally. TRM® was established in 1989 in Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland.

Dundalk Stadium races back into their busiest time of the year, as their Autumn Winter schedule under the lights gets underway. With 23 fixtures still to go, the leaderboard can still go either way. Currently Joseph O’Brien is leading the trainers with 13 wins, with Ado McGuinness following just behind him with 10 wins. Its tight over on the jockey’s side as Donagh O’Connor currently leads with 9 wins and Colin Keane just behind with 8 wins, while Billy Lee is in third place with 7 wins.
